Not making anything lately

I just can't seem to get myself to work on anything. My sister is sick again and no cure. Just can't seem to get into crocheting.
I have two afghans that I have been working on but not a lot. One is a ripple for one of my nieces and one is a butterfly throw for my sister if she is still here for Christmas.
I have done a few cancer hats on my knitting loom.
Maybe with cooler weather around the corner Ill feel more up to it.
Stopped by to look at pictures on crochetvile.com sometimes that gets me motivated. But not today.

WOW long time no post

I made smaller gifts and much less for 2010 so no pictures. I made a granny square shaw (sp) for grandmother, scarf, and a pillow. This all.
This year I have a few things.
On hook I have an afgran for one of my nieces turns out she has yet to recieve one. I am planning on some sort of quilt type crochet item for my in-laws family ruinion auction to raise money for the next one.
On my in-laws side we well no longer play dirty santa. Going to buy for just my great nephew's. I have two now but in 2011 there well be four. So going to crochet a couple toys type items. (I really don't like doing that.) Maybe a small child/baby size blanket for each. Cause I like doing that. lol And something for my Grandmother. Not sure right now but thinking anouther shaw but using my knifty knitter looms instead of crochet. Getting to where I prefer those with my eyes being so bad.
And thats all for 2011 I have planned if my new glasses make crocheting easier for me I may plan on a couple other items but for now that it.

I have plans to not do one afghan. WOOT. lol 2 scarf sets, 1 for Daddy, 1 for dirty santa boy gift for my in laws. You know think I have like four or five red scarfs in my closet.

2 baby gifts. Thinking of doing stuffed toys of some sort.

1 pillow for dirty santa girl gift. (the one I took this year was a huge hit so making anouther)

some dish cloths, slippers and kitchen stuff for my sister and a couple friends.

This well leave me time to do something for myself. Looking at a poncho. Narrowed it down to two. Heck might do both. lol One I can do with the scraps I have in the closet as well as use them up on some of the Christmas. The other I want to buy some yarn for.

My nephew David was not at the family thing so well give him what I made this year next year and we are sending him some money this year.

Also hope to do some squares for charity this coming year.

Well the plan was to do a RR afhgan but it is taking way to long and the more I work on it the more I hate working on it so now it well be a really large lapghan.
Wish it would lay flat but it don't. I wont make any more of these any time soon.

For the first time since well forever. I have three projects going at once. lol
I have my RR that I am making for my Dad for Christmas but way to hot already to work on almost finished.

There is the tiny motif project that is over half way there.

Today I started a afghan using 12 inch squares. Thinking of doing 15 to 18. Using up yarn in my closet.

I also joined a 12 inch square exchange that I am sure I well have to buy yarn for, that well help with colors cause I do not have a lot of different colors. I have lots of different shade but only have like red, green and blues left.

It is started. Just big enough for a lapghan. It well take a while before it is big enough for my bed. That is where I plan to put it. But only adding 2 squares a month well take a while.

I am so proud of this one. I have no idea if the girl liked it or not since she wont reply to my emails in the exchange group. The mod said she got it and that is all I know.

I think it may be that she was told by her mom like I was. "If you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing at all."

Fingerless Gloves

I have been having some problems with my hand and wrist so I wear support on them any time I crochet and sometimes I have to wear them for a day or two while I "rest" them.

Anyway I used this http://crochetme.com/patterns/lacy-fingerless-gloves pattern and modified it to fit over these.

They turned out pretty good and best of all my hands never hurt while I was making them. lol

Let Freedom Ring. Have 35 motifs done so far. I can't wait to get this done. My husband loves it and says that someday when we have less dogs he wants me to make him one too.

Old Fashion Teddy Bear for my Great Nephew who wont even be a year old.

RR for my Dad (half done already)

RR for the Dirty Santa my in laws do instead of buying for everyone.

Kitchen stuff for my sister, my friend/boss and my Grandmother.

I am using patterns for some of my books I have here and never used. lol And I have about 20 cones of some cotton yarn I am going to use for the kitchen stuff.

I also plan to make the Grandmothers Garden Path I spoke of in anouther post. Making it for the daughter of one of the men who works for my husband that gave me my 55 gallon fish tank a couple months ago. Better late then never.

Finish my RR I am working on now.

Finish the baby blanket I am working on.

Make some toys for my new great nephew for when he gets here.

Use up more scraps. Got a couple ideas for this already. Starting with my Grandma's Garden Path

Make some baby stuff for the hospital near me.

Make a couple purses. Either well have to hand sew in liners or find something I can do without a liner.

I finished the RR lapghan for my sister. It is 40 inch's from tip to tip. Sure hope it pleases her and it is big enough.

Now back to work on my other one. It needs to be much bigger since it going to be an afghan.

I also still have the baby blanket to finish and I have my summer project picked out. It well use up some more of my scraps. My plan is to do Grandma's Garden Path from the book Herrchners Crochet Afghans 2008 national contest winners. I have done one a lot like it but a much smaller version that is on line. http://www.patchworkcrochet.com/garden.htm Gave it to my mother in law when she passed away it come back to me and I have it to my sister. No clue who I well give this one too but I am sure someone well come to mind before it is done.

This one is done with Lion Chenille teal. My sister loves this yarn and a few years back she asked me to make a lapghan for her to use at the computer. Well I found some for three bucks a skein and bought but just not getting around to finding a pattern I liked enough to use it.

Other then making squares for the exchanges I am in I really have not done a lot of chocheting lately.

Mostly cause the last project was so much trouble I could not look away from the pattern without losing my place. So I frogged and started this round ripple.

Looks great(can I say that? lol)and I can talk, watch tv or what have you at the same time. lol

Just not in the mood to speed threw making any Christmas gifts. Besides no one here much uses scarfs. So just going to buy a few happies for everyone for Christmas and call it done for this year.
However I have started a round ripple that I plan to give Dad Christmas 2010 and have plans for a couple more for gifts.
I am using this pattern cause it looks easy to fallow but I am leaving off the black.

The scarf/scarfs is done

For my swap. Can't post pictures yet but I well after she gets the box. Need to get a couple things to add to the box but it is pretty much ready to go.
I am going to start working again on the Rose afghan and the baby afgan.
On a good note someone was so kind as to send me the pattern I needed to make the Rose Ripple Afghan however I really don't like the yarn that goes with it so going to see about making some changes so I can use Simply Soft instead. Might turn out a little larger but not much cause that stuff is pretty thin. But feels so much better. For this project I well buy some yarn so may have to wait till Christmas and use some of my Grandmothers Christmas money for it.
Then Ill have to figure out who gets it. lol I bet my sister would love it for Christmas next year. She loves that simply solf yarn.

Got it started for my niece. She is expecting. Got the pattern from
"mile-a-minunte AFGHANS" It is called. BRAIDS FOR BABY.

I plan to do two stips blue, pink, yellow and green. Looks even better in person. I really like it.

I have found a pattern even I can make. lol These were just something I threw together to make sure I could do them.
Now I can go get some cool yarns from my stash and make a few for Christmas presents. I think these well be much better then scrafs for the ladies on my list.
I also plan to make bows, flowers and stuff to go on them to dress them up more and do two strands of yarn.
Just hope I can guess peoples sizes close enough.

Almost have the baby blanket done.
Had to put aside the rose afghan till it cools off some and I am under a little less stress.
Joined a scraf swap and really looking forward to getting started on that. I need to finish the one I am working on for a Christmas gift.
You know I keep giving those as gifts and not many times here in the south we can wear them.
I really want to learn how to get guage right and make slippers.
